Logan

Logan, 8" x 10", Color Pencil

I was told that Logan was NOT in a good mood when this picture was taken. But the wispy hair and outdoor lighting made a very romantic image.

The medium for this portrait is color pencil on watercolor paper. The colors are built up in thin layers. After a certain point, color pencil is very unforgiving because the many layers are impossible to erase and the image cannot be altered. In other words, the composition and color must be planned before beginning the drawing.
